Hallway of Healing

HMS Hallway of Healing

HMS-CARES, a student-led Club for an Anti-Racist & Equitable School, has created an interactive set of displays turning our Commons Hallway outside the library into the "Hallway of Healing" with an educational focus to advance a deeper understanding of our nation's difficult history with racial/social inequity, to celebrate our diversity, and recognize the achievements of expanded liberties and justice for all.

Through understanding comes healing and from healing comes the strength to form a more perfect, more equitable, union.

Reflections from Black History Month
February, 2021
Black History Month

In honor of Black History Month - February 2021, HMS presents an "Evening of Entertainment" featuring the sounds of Whitney Houston, Michael Jackson, Teddy Pendergrass, Alicia Keys, and more.  Enjoy the energy of Kirk Franklin, a tribute to Barack Obama, the elegance of poet Amanda Gorman and the narrated poetry by Viola Davis.  Experience the gripping dialogue between black parents and children as they address the issue of police encounters...

The resources in the links below from our HMS Library/Media Center have been curated by our school librarian, Ms. Hilda Williams...
